About the studio

Northlight was started in 2016 by a small team who wanted to photograph work as it actually happens — the pauses, the hands, the tools. We shoot mostly with available light and print everything in-house.

Over the years we've worked with bakeries, boat-builders, orchestras and a good number of stubborn cats. If your project needs patient, quiet images rather than staged ones, we'd like to hear about it.

The studio sits on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. Visits are by appointment, Tuesdays through Fridays.
